Hiking vacation in Kleinarl

Hiking can be so many things, but never boring

A relaxing walk along the Kleinarler Ache to the Jägersee, a meditative walk around the lake, a leisurely hike on romantic forest paths along crystal clear, babbling brooks. An enjoyable alpine hike to the Tappenkarsee, to the Kleinarler Hütte, to the Steinkaralm or a challenging high-altitude hike to the Glingspitze. Sunrise breakfast at the Blaue See lake or do you prefer to conquer the Ennskraxen, the local mountain of the Hotel Lärchenhof? YOU have the choice on your hiking vacation in Austria.

Joint hikes on new paths

After an enjoyable breakfast, perhaps on the sun terrace, we set off together on an exciting hike. We will show you paths to fragrant flower meadows, hidden mushroom spots, wild herb glades – nature that is hard to find on your own and we will not forget together. You want to go alone? We will be very happy to plan your hike together with you and support you with valuable tips:

The hunter lake

A beautiful hike for everyone is the circular trail around the Jägersee in Kleinarl. Crystal clear water with a blue-green shimmer, the water is cold, but it warms our hearts at this beautiful sight. The path around the Jägersee is suitable for strollers. Tread water, row a boat, enjoy the moment, linger on the shores of the lake and adjacent streams, admire the magnificent peaks around the lake – savor every moment.

The Tappenkar Lake

A little further up than the Jägersee is the Tappenkarsee. The hike to the Tappenkarsee leads along the Jägersee to the Schwabalm parking lot. You can get there either on foot or by car via the toll road. From the Schwabalm parking lot, a footpath leads up to the lake, where you can take short breaks again and again to admire the breathtakingly beautiful landscape and the incredible views down into the valley. Past the Eisbrünnerl you come to the lake. You can hear your heart pounding when you see Tappenkarsee for the first time after about 1.5 hours of climbing – and not just because your pulse is so high from walking uphill. This offers a natural spectacle unparalleled at any time of the year. Sometimes the lake is really mystical, when its water is whipped along restlessly by the wind or thin fog fields drift over the Tappenkarsee. Sometimes it is just very calm, deep blue and soothing. Especially in the evening, when peace and quiet slowly return, you can really enjoy the unique landscape.

The Ennskraxn

You can really work up a sweat! After all, you climb over 1,400 meters in altitude. From the Lärchenhof via the Jausenstation Ennskraxn, then on to the Steinkaralm and up to the Blauer See. The path over the blue lake is steep and you should be free from giddiness. Mountain experience is absolutely necessary! The trail leads out along the rock face to the summit cross. But the unique view rewards you for the effort.

The Kleinarl Almroas

From Hotel Lärchenhof past the church over shady forest paths up to the Steinkaralm, which invites you to the first rest and where the dairymaid brings a spicy egg dish, fresh buttermilk or a fragrant cake on the table. Once you have strengthened yourself, the tour continues to the next stop, the beautifully located Weißenhofalm past the beautiful alpine meadows with lots of water and flowers. Very lovingly cared for and managed, there are so really good Kaspressknödel, and if you’re lucky also an original music.
